Ordering Restricted Products
Some bacterial and viral strains supplied by NCTC and NCPV are classified as restricted products. These require additional paperwork and, in some cases, a UK export licence before shipment.
Restricted products are strains for which distribution is limited due to regulatory requirements and/or biosecurity policies. For example: Bacillus anthracis and Eastern equine encephalitis virus are restricted strains due to the following regulatory requirements:
-
UK Export licence approval
-
SAPO regulations
-
Schedule 5 regulations
-
IATA/ADR regulations
-
Import permit requirements
More information can be found on the regulatory requirements page.

Our Biosecurity Team will review all details and let you know if any amendments or additional information are needed. Check all details before submission as corrections may result in delays.
