Exporting our products

This page provides useful information for customers outside the United Kingdom who are purchasing products that may be subject to export restrictions.

For all shipments exported from the United Kingdom, Culture Collections will provide the following documentation as standard:

  • Commercial Invoice

  • Dispatch Note

  • Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), where applicable

These documents support export customs clearance and transportation requirements.

CITES (Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora)

Certain ECACC cell lines are subject to CITES regulations. Before placing an order, customers should check the product page on the Culture Collections website to determine whether the cell line they wish to purchase is regulated under CITES.

For the legal export of CITES-regulated products, Culture Collections will obtain the appropriate CITES Export Permit or Re-export Certificate from the UK CITES Management Authority. Please note that additional Delivery Charges and processing times will apply.

Customers are responsible for checking with their local customs authority and their country's CITES Management Authority to determine whether a CITES Import Permit is also required before shipment.

Further information, including contact details for national CITES authorities, can be found on the official CITES website:

Export Health Certificates

Some countries and territories require an Export Health Certificates (EHC) issued by the Animal & Plant Health Agency (APHA). This certificate confirms that the product being imported meets the importing country's animal health and biosecurity requirements.

Customers should confirm with their local regulatory authority whether an Export Health Certificate is required prior to placing an order.

Where an Export Health Certificate is required, Culture Collections will arrange the application. Please note that additional charges and processing times will apply.

Certificates of Origin

Culture Collections can arrange a Certificate of Origin (CoO) issued by the UK Chamber of Commerce and Industry where required. Applications will be submitted on the customer's behalf. Please note that additional charges and processing times will apply.

Important Information

Culture Collections will provide all export documentation required to support the export of its products from the United Kingdom and will assist with obtaining government-issued export certificates where applicable.

However, it remains the importer's responsibility to:

  • Obtain all import permits, licences and approvals required by local customs and regulatory authorities.

  • Ensure that any required import documentation is in place before shipment.

  • Confirm all import requirements with relevant authorities prior to dispatch.

Culture Collections cannot guarantee successful import customs clearance where the necessary import documentation has not been obtained. Failure to secure the required permits, licences or approvals may result in customs delays, storage charges, return of goods, or destruction of the shipment by the importing authorities.
