New AMR strain panels launched through UKHSA and PACE collaboration
Culture Collections is proud to announce the launch of five new antimicrobial resistance (AMR) strain panels, now available through the NCTC catalogue to support the development of new diagnostics and therapeutics.
Developed through a collaboration between the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and Pathways to Antimicrobial Clinical Efficacy (PACE), these contemporary AMR panels provide researchers worldwide with access to clinically relevant, fully characterised bacterial isolates that reflect current resistance patterns.
As AMR continues to threaten the effectiveness of antimicrobial treatments globally, there is an urgent need for new diagnostics and therapies. However, resistance mechanisms evolve rapidly, meaning products developed using historic reference strains may not accurately reflect the resistant bacteria circulating today. These new panels help address that challenge by providing researchers with access to recent, well-characterised isolates representing key resistance mechanisms of clinical concern.
